Yes. A student may take up to 6 semester credits (or 3 courses) of 600 level MBA courses without being admitted to the MBA program. Students, however, must be admitted to the Graduate School and must meet all prerequisites before taking any graduate courses in the College of Business. You can gain admittance to the Graduate School as a non-degree seeking student for your first semester. Choose either the online or pdf Graduate Studies application. There are no-fees associated with the non-degree seeking application and you can apply for formal admission the following semester provided you meet current enrollment requirements.

Admission to the MBA Program in the College of Business is competitive. Minnesota State University, Mankato offers MBA programs in both Mankato and in the Twin Cities (7700 France Avenue). Application materials must be received by the following dates:
Spring '09 Semester Deadline: December 1, 2008. Classes begin January 12, 2009.
Fall '09 Semester Deadline: July 1, 2009. Classes begin August 24, 2009.
Regular Admission: A student with a standard formula score of 1000 or higher, a Minimum GMAT score of 500, and has completed all prerequisite courses will be admitted as a regular MBA student.
Conditional Admission: A student that lacks specific prerequisite courses, or their GMAT score is slightly less than 500, but their formula score is at 1000, may be admitted on a conditional basis.
Standard Formula Score is calculated by multiplying undergraduate GPA times 200 plus the GMAT score.
Prerequisite courses are the undergraduate equivalent to - Principles of Accounting, Principles of Finance, Principles of Marketing, Micro/Macro Economics, Statistics, Principles of International Business.
