Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU) invites you to consider completing a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing at one of the nation's most respected Schools of Nursing (SON). This program is now more convenient than ever in Edina at Minnesota State University Mankato's location at 7700 France Avenue, near Centennial Lakes Plaza. Minnesota State Mankato has offered the professional nursing program since 1953. Graduates will have met the requirements for certification as public health nurses and licensure as school nurses in Minnesota. In 1974 the SON developed an RN Option for registered nurses to obtain a baccalaureate degree. The SON redesigned the RN Option into a RN Baccalaureate Completion during the 2004–05 academic year. The redesign included the following:
- Student self–selected enrollment in three out of five support nursing courses.
- Faculty identification of five required core courses.
- Course delivery changed from face–to–face to an expanded online distance education format.
Faculty are accessible by e–mail, voice mail, and office appointment.

Admission Requirements
Students must be admitted to the School of Nursing before taking any core nursing courses.
- Completion of at least 30 college semester credits
- Minimum career grade point average (GPA) of a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum grade of C in all required prerequisite and support courses and previous nursing courses
- All prerequisite and support courses must be taken for a letter grade; P/N is not acceptable
- One college chemistry course
- All general education requirements are satisfied
- Proof of active unrestricted RN Minnesota license
- Letter of reference
Admission Deadlines
RNs accepted during the fall (October 15), spring (March 15), and summer (June 15) semesters. The application for RN Baccalaureate Completion Program may be obtained from the Baccalaureate Completion Program Coordinator or the School of Nursing website.
Admission Procedure
- You must first apply to Minnesota State University, Mankato, as a transfer student. For information on applying to the university please contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-722-0544 (ext. 1). You can also apply online at http://www.mnsu.edu/admissions/transfer/application/.
- You will need to contact all post–secondary institutions attended and request official transcripts to be sent to Minnesota State University, Mankato Office of Admissions. Once they have a completed application from you they will forward these to the Office of the Registrar where they will be evaluated. Once they have completed this process you will receive a Transfer Course Conversion form in the mail. You will need this to apply to the School of Nursing.

Please note: The transfer evaluation process can take 4–6 weeks to complete. Please request transcripts to be sent earlier to allow sufficient time to complete this step.
- If you have attended Minnesota State University, Mankato in the past, but have since taken course at other college/universities you will need to have official transcripts sent to the Registrar's office to be evaluated. You do not need to reapply to the University. Once they have completed this process you will receive a Transfer Course Conversion form in the mail. You will need this to apply to the School of Nursing.

- Contact the RN Baccalaureate Completion Coordinator. She is available to assist you in applying to the University and the School of Nursing and to set up a plan of study for you.

- Each applicant is responsible for reading all instructions on the application carefully and including all the required information at the time the application is submitted or the application will not be given consideration for admission. The required information includes:
- Copy of your Current Minnesota RN license
- Letter of Reference
- Student Health Record
- Copy of CPR Certification
- Proof of Health Insurance coverage
