Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Performing Arts News Release

MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts continues the 2023-2024 Theatre Season with “Round Trip Ticket” in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for the Performing Arts.

Two actors are starring in a movie as spies, who are undercover as gangsters, who are roleplaying as actors...Are you following? Playwright Bruce Jones invites you to see it with someone you don’t understand.

This is an original production, written by Minnesota State Mankato adjunct playwriting professor Bruce Jones. Bruce originally presented this plan on campus in the 1970s, first at the Pit Theatre in the Crawford dorm, and then a year later in the Ostrander Auditorium. The second iteration of the play was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Washington D.C. The current version of the play was rewritten extensively to appeal to modern audiences and performers. We expect many members of the original productions to join us in the Andreas Theatre for this show.

“Round Trip Ticket” runs April 17-20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato. Tickets are $10 regular, $9 for seniors ages 65 and older and children under 16; and $5 for Minnesota State Mankato students.

The box office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online at MSUTheatre.com or over the phone at 507-389-6661.
