MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts will continue the Mainstage theatre season with “Anastasia” the musical April 4-14.

Journey to the past as Anya seeks to remember her history and reunite with her family. Twenty years after the Romanov family is executed and it’s rumored that young Anastasia escaped, friendly con artists Vlad and Dmitri hatch a plan to find an Anastasia look-alike and trick the Dowager Empress into believing it’s her long-lost granddaughter. Based on the family-friendly 20th Century Fox film from 1997, and featuring a live 12-piece orchestra, projections from the Broadway musical, and a cast of 29 students, this production is a spectacle not to be missed.

“Anastasia” runs April 4-5 and 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. and April 6, 13 & 14 at 2 p.m. in the Ted Paul Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato.  Please note the matinee on April 6. There is no evening performance on April 6.
