Aug. 16: Annual Convocation Day

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato President Edward Inch will welcome faculty back to campus and discuss his vision for the 2021-2022 academic year in his convocation address Monday, Aug. 16 in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom. Inch became Minnesota State Mankato’s 13th president on July 1.

A convocation reception for faculty and staff will be held from 8:30-9 a.m. Monday in the CSU Ballroom lobby. The convocation program begins at 9 a.m. Student Government President Reauna Stiff will speak at 9:25 a.m., and Inch will deliver his address from 9:30-10:15 a.m.

Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Brian Martensen will deliver the provost’s convocation address from 10:30-11 a.m. in the CSU Ballroom.

  • Monday, Aug. 16 – Convocation, 9-11 a.m. (President’s address, 9:30-10:15 a.m.)
  • Thursday, Aug. 19-Sunday, Aug. 22 – Student move-in dates. On Aug. 19-20, students will move in during time slots for which they signed up in advance. (Some students are also moving in during Aug. 14-15 “drop and go” time slots.)   • Friday, Aug. 20 – A new student rally will be held from 4:30-5:15 p.m. in Bresnan Arena (in the Taylor Center). A picnic will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. near the Alumni Arch.
  • Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 21-22 – “Welcome Week” activities continue. A complete schedule of 2021 student welcome week activities is available online.
  • Monday, Aug. 23 – First day of fall classes.
