Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato President Edward Inch will welcome faculty back to campus and discuss his vision for the 2023-2024 academic year and highlights from the University’s strategic plan, “Destination 2030,” in his convocation address Monday, Aug. 14 in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom.

A convocation reception for faculty and staff will be held from 8:30-9 a.m. Monday in the CSU Ballroom lobby. The convocation program begins at 9 a.m. Student Government President Sierra Roiger will speak at approximately 9:25 a.m., and Inch will deliver his address from approximately 9:30-10 a.m.

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs David Hood will deliver the provost’s convocation address from approximately 10-10:30 a.m. in the CSU Ballroom.

  • Monday, Aug. 14 – Convocation, 9-10:30 a.m. (President’s address, 9:30-10 a.m.)
  • Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 17-20Move-In. Approximately 2,800 students will move into campus residence communities. The University “Move Crew” will assist students and families in unpacking their cars.   • Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 17-20 – “Welcome Week” activities. 2023 Welcome Week schedule.
  • Friday, Aug. 18 – A new student rally will be held from 11-11:45 a.m. at Blakeslee Stadium (rain location is Myers Field House), followed by a “march through the arch.” A picnic for faculty, staff, alumni and friends will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. near the Alumni Arch (rain location is Myers Field House).
  • Monday, Aug. 21 – First day of fall classes.
