March 23: Minnesota State Mankato's Performance Series Features The Jimmys with City Mouse

Mankato, Minn. – The Jimmys will perform in Mankato on Saturday, March 23 at Hooligans, 1400 East Madison Avenue (Madison East Center). Regional favorites City Mouse will open the show with a set starting at 7 p.m.

The concert is sponsored by KMSU The Maverick and the Minnesota State University, Mankato Performance Series.

The Jimmys’ fanbase continues to expand in the upper Midwest, Canada and Europe. The Madison Area Music Awards and the Wisconsin Area Music Awards have recognized and honored The Jimmys with over two dozen MAMA and WAMI awards, including Blues Artist of the year, Blues Song of the Year, Bassist of the Year, Brass Player of the Year and Keyboardist of the Year.

In September 2021, the Independent Blues Award Association honored Jimmys’ song,  “Write a Hit,” (feat. Marcia Ball) with the 2021 IBA Contemporary Blues Song of the year award.

City Mouse has been performing a blend of originals, country, bluegrass, country-rock and blues for over 50 years. Group founder Billy Steiner has been inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame. All group members have been finalists for a Minnesota Music Award. City Mouse was recently inducted into the Minnesota Rock/Country Hall of Fame.

Concert admission is $15 in advance, $20 day of show. Tickets are available at Hooligans (507-625-9904) or online at hss.mnsu.edu/music-events.
