Kaia Barrett, Aviation LCC

Welcome… I’m your LCC Kaia Barrett! 

I am so excited to meet you the fall.  I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato!  Being involved with the Aviation 1 Learning Community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can! 

Major: Aviation 

How/what made you decide this major? Despite never knowing what I wanted to be when I grew up, I went on a discovery flight my junior year of high school and ended up falling in love with flying. Aviation feels like the perfect fit, and I love the challenges and rewards that come with it.   

Year in School: Sophomore 

Hometown: Stevens Point, WI 

Favorite Food: Pasta  

Advice for LC Students: Embrace the awkward, and don’t be afraid to reach out to new people, they might be scared of doing it first! Your learning community friends will be a huge resource and support system during not just this year, but the rest of your college career.  

Favorite thing about MSU: I love the community itself, everyone is supportive and collectively together.  

Campus/LC Involvement: Aviation Club, LCC Aviation 1, LOL Club  

Favorite thing to do in Mankato: Discover new parks and places to walk 

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: Be with friends
