Welcome… I’m your LCC (Rekek Amsalu)

I am so excited to meet you in the fall.  I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato!  Being involved with the Business Learning Community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can!

Major: Bachelors of Accounting

How/what made you decide this major? My whole family does business and that inspired me to do accounting so that I can make smart decisions and transform my family’s business. 

Year in School: Currently a junior

Hometown: Addis Ababa/ Ethiopia

Favorite Food: Lasagna

Advice for LC Students: Be proactive, step out of your comfort zone, and make connections.

Favorite thing about MSU: The diversity, there is always something for you in MNSU.

Campus/LC Involvement: I am currently a secretary for a campus organization called the Ethiopian and Eritierian Student Association.In addition, I work on campus as a front desk assistant for the Preska Residence community. 

Favorite thing to do in Mankato: Explore different cuisine

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: Shopping and spending time with myself.

Anything else we should know about you? I am very outgoing and easy to talk to. I can't wait to meet my students and create an incredible bond among each other.
