Welcome… I’m your LCC Madelyn Siegel

I am so excited to meet you in the fall. I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato! Being involved with the Exploring Teaching Careers 1 Learning Community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can!

Major: Elementary Education

How/what made you decide this major? I have always enjoyed school and being a mentor to young children. I love learning and being in a learning environment. Teaching is a job with a lot of variety and a way of serving the communities.

Favorite Food: Chicken Alfredo

Advice for LC Students: Join everything that interests you and don't be afraid to try something new, college is a great time to figure out what you like. Take time for yourself. Don't overcrowd your schedule because you still need time to yourself.

Favorite thing about MSU: I have always loved the very welcoming environment and there is always something going on that you can attend to socialize.

Campus/LC Involvement: I am a current teacher candidate in the Elementary Education program. I was part of the Elementary Education Learning Community my freshman year. I was a Learning Community Coordinator for the Exploring Teaching Learning Community last year and will continue again this year.

Favorite thing to do in Mankato: I love to go downtown to local coffee shops with friends as well as explore local stores.

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: When I am not busy, you’ll find me with my friends enjoying activities like shopping, watching movies, or cooking together.
