Concert Company
Chaired by Miles Kipper, Concert Company brings popular music and entertainment to campus. Each year, Concert Company brings at least one major concert and many smaller shows including Singer Songwriter Contest, Battle of the Bands, and various performances in the Centennial Student Union. Past performers include Brother Ali, Quiet Drive, Switchfoot, Black Eyed Peas, Counting Crows, Live, Fuel, Three Doors Down, Blues Traveler and Violent Femmes. The committee meets every Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 in CSU 285. Come to a meeting to help prepare and run concerts throughout each semester.
Stompers Cinema (Films)
Chaired by Karlos Posas, the Stomper’s Cinema brings blockbuster films to campus every weekend. The films are out of theater but not yet released to DVD or video. Past films include, The Dark Knight, Sex and the City, Wall-E, Step Brothers, and many more. Along with Hollywood blockbusters, this group brings independent, international and documentary films to campus. The committee also plans events to go along with the movies, including trivia contests, carnivals and panel discussions. Being a part of this committee allows students to help operate films, plan hit movies accordingly and work behind the scenes nearly once a week! The commitee meets every Monday from 5:00 to 6:00 in CSU 173.
Special Events
Sub-Chaired by Sara DeBoer, the Special Events committee does event planning for all of Homecoming! Other events they put on are MSU IDOL, Twins Opener Game, MSU’s Best Dance Crew, Cookie Decorating, Vikings and Twins Games, and walk-by events along with other activities throughout the year. This committee needs strong leaders and involvement! Meeting once weekly, the team will help to organize student activities for everyone on campus. New this Year: STREET TEAM!
Chaired my Megan Gabel and the IMPACT Team, this group is here to help students pick their involvement with IMAPCT! This includes going to committee meetings, making posters, planning events, working events, promoting the events board has planned, but most importantly, being an innovative leader on campus! There will be a monthly meeting to sign up for events and discuss new events. Think you might not have time? It’s ok! IMPACT allows students to be as involved as little or as much as they’d like!
