Enrich Your Academic Experience...Volunteer!

What motivates people to volunteer in Campus Kitchen and other service learning sites throughout our community? Some volunteer to complete course requirements. Some volunteer to build resumes.  Some volunteer because it is a wonderful way to feel good about how they are using time.  Some volunteer to give back to the community.  Whatever motivates someone to volunteer, the end result is the same: serving in meaningful ways to accomplish something of value to you for your community.

Our kitchen is located in Crossroads Campus Lutheran Ministry located at 331 Dillon Avenue, behind the Performing Arts Center. Hours in the kitchen during the academic year are:

4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday: Prep work

5:00 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday:  Packaging

6:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday: Delivery

8:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Tuesday:  Delivery

Noon - 1 p.m. Tuesday: Delivery

5 p.m. - 6 p.m.  Wednesday: Biscuit and Bagel Buddies

Minnesota State Mankato students can sign up for a shift after joining our CEO portal on OrgSync .  Slots in the kitchen are filled first come first serve and they are limited. If you hope to sign up to support our efforts, we encourage you to get on board early.

Large Groups or Learning Communities

Because of the popularity of service at the Campus Kitchen at MSU, Mankato, contact us about 3-4 weeks before you would like your group to serve in the Campus Kitchen. If kitchen slots are full, Campus Kitchen staff can work with you to come up with other ways you can learn in support of student leadership development through this or many community-based initiatives throughout Mankato!

Non-MSU Volunteers at Campus Kitchen

Although MSU, Mankato students fill our shifts, we occasionally look to others to help us complete our tasks. Limited space is available. If you are interested in helping, just once or on a regular basis, contact Karen Anderson or Nathan Steussy.

Campus Kitchen Simmers through Academic Breaks!
