Dance Marathon:

“MSU Dance Marathon celebrates children and the families of children who are overcoming battles with life threatening diseases and disabilities. The causes of most childhood diseases are unknown at present and cannot be prevented. However, MSU Dance Marathon is working together in conjunction with Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, a Children’s Miracle Network hospital, to support and celebrate the children who live with these disabilities. We are involved in Dance Marathon because we want to make a difference and we want you to join us!

On February 25, the 7th annual Dance Marathon took place at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The event, which is now known as MAVATHON, was a huge success! There were live performances by the Maverick Machine, magician Kevin Hall, and DJ Sergio. A local caricature artist was on site, lots of food was eaten, and there was a ton of fun. Since 2011, the Mankato campus has raised over $100,000! This past MAVATHON, we were able to beat last year’s record and raised over $28,000 for Gillette Children’s Hospital!

“The children and their families who were in attendance thoroughly enjoyed themselves and appreciated the opportunity to support the hospital that has helped them so much. The families also shared that they enjoyed the interaction of our great students with their children. This event allowed our Mankato community to shine and really show these families that we support them. We look forward to the 2018 Dance Marathon, which will take place February 24, 2018.
