Dance Marathon:

“MSU Dance Marathon celebrates children and the families of children who are overcoming battles with life threatening diseases and disabilities. The causes of most childhood diseases are unknown at present and cannot be prevented. However, MSU Dance Marathon is working together in conjunction with Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, a Children’s Miracle Network hospital, to support and celebrate the children who live with these disabilities. We are involved in Dance Marathon because we want to make a difference and we want you to join us!

February 2014 marked the fourth anniversary of the return of Dance Marathon to the Minnesota State University-Mankato campus. Dance Marathon is an event held at the end of a fundraising season with all proceeds benefiting Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, MN. Since 2011, the MSU events have raised more than $41,000. Dance Marathon 2014 “Getting’ Wild for the Kids” raised over $14,000 for Gillette’s!

The patients and their families that were in attendance thoroughly enjoyed themselves and appreciated the opportunity to support the hospital that has helped them so much. The families also shared that they enjoyed the interaction of our great students with their children. This event allowed our Greek community, our university community, and our community at large to shine and really show these families that we support them. We look forward to the 2015 Dance Marathon “Be a Hero for the Kids” which will take place on February 28, 2015.”
