Minnesota State University, Mankato's requirements for undergraduate admission to international students is outlined below. If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail the International Student Specialist at intladmt@mnsu.edu.
Application Instructions:
- Request and submit MSU's International Student Application form and application fee. (See below to request an application or download one.)
- Provide documented evidence of financial support by completing the financial statement and providing accompanying bank statements equal to at least $19,667.
- Read, sign, and return the International Student Agreement.
- Provide proof of English proficiency.
- Write and submit a one-page personal essay in English that tells something of your life, education and interests.
- Send MSU notarized transcripts documenting your educational background, including evidence of a secondary education that would earn admission to a university in your home country.
To Transfer From a United States Institution:
- Complete all steps in the above application process.
- Ask each United States school you have attended to forward an official transcript directly to MSU Admissions. (A minimum 2.0 grade point average and 75% completion of all attempted courses is required to be accepted for study at MSU.)
- Be in good standing with the U.S. Office of Immigration and Naturalization Service and have your current U.S. institution complete the International Student Advisor Form (pg. 6 of International Student Application) and forward it directly to MSU Admissions.
