Why I picked Minnesota State Mankato: The size of the campus is just right—not too big, but not too small. I also love how many programs are offered and the wide range of academic opportunities available.

Must-haves for the residence hall: Definitely shower shoes. Also bring a rug and pictures to make it your own place. I lived in the residence halls for one year, but wish I would have done two. The convenience of being on campus is great!

To work or not to work: I was able to transfer from my job back home and work part-time as a manager at Arby's. Piece of advice on working: Don't work your first semester! Enjoy your first year and get acclimated to the college life!

Best place to study: In the basement of the library or in a study group. Study groups are a great way to learn material and meet new people in your classes!

When I'm not studying: I love to hang out with my friends, or go play racquetball on campus.

Favorite college memory so far: Getting involved in a Fraternity. Get involved! Being in a fraternity has helped me see things about college and life in a different perspective. I've met so many great people and have been a lot more pleased with my college experience!

Best place to eat on campus: Stacks Sub Shop or Chick-fil-A. They're both in the student union, so it's good food in a good location.

Favorite campus event so far: Hockey games are awesome! I've never felt so much school spirit in one big place. And students get free tickets to all sporting events!

Best thing about being a student at Minnesota State Mankato: The endless new opportunities available. I have yet to get bored; there is always something new going on.

Best advice for getting the most out of college: Get involved! Your college experience is nothing without involvement on campus. In my time here as a student I've been actively involved in more than six organizations and have learned so much from every one. College is an experience, but getting involved makes college so much more valuable.
