Cynthia Amoroso graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in English in 1981 and Elementary Education in 1986. She earned a Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction in 1990 and Specialist degree in Educational Administration in 1994. In her career as an educator, Cindy has taught high school English and Elementary School, has been an assistant principal, and currently serves as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Mankato Area Public Schools. Cindy worked for a brief time at a publishing company in the Twin Cities, an experience which sparked her passion for publishing children's books over the past 20 years. Cindy develops publishing programs and writes nonfiction childrens’ books with photographic illustrations on topics including biographies, science, sports, presidents, games and geography. She is the daughter of Harold J. Fitterer for whom the Distinguished Alumni Service Award is named. Cindy enjoys traveling with her husband, Gary, and daughters, Katie and Kelsey. She resides in Mankato, MN.
