Shortly after graduating in 2002 with a B.S. in Political Science, Ruth Shanklin Jackson went to work in the non-profit world. Currently, she is the Communications Director for the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Mankato Province, integrating the order’s mission and brand into all materials and sharing the sisters’ stories with both donors and the Mankato community at large. During her time at MSU she completed a year of service with Americorps working in youth and community development with the Mankato Family YMCA, was a Community Advisor in the famed Gage towers, and was named MSU’s Volunteer of the Year in 2002 for work with the Women’s Center. She continues to be active with the University and the Mankato community as a MSU Commencement volunteer; Maverick basketball season ticket holder; member of Zonta, a women’s service organization; and member of the Southern Minnesota Marketing Association. Ruth and her husband Greg ’01 reside in North Mankato.
