Nick Meyer grew up on a "century farm" in southwest MN near Jeffers. He graduated magna cum laude from the College of St. Thomas in 1982 with a BA in Economics / Business Administration. After serving two years in the Army primarily in Germany, he enrolled first at the Uof M then MSU where he earned an MBA in 1986. After graduation, Nick worked in financial planning then public accounting as a CPA before joining the federal agency National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) as an examiner in 1990. Since early 2000, he has served as president of the Mankato-based Minnesota Valley Federal Credit Union. Currently he is a director on the MN Credit Union Network state board of directors and chairman of the audit committee. Nick is also a member of various community and volunteer organizations such as the Rotary Club of Mankato and Knights of Columbus and volunteers for the YMCA, Junior Achievement, United Way and a number of ad hoc committees such as Envision 2020. He also serves on the North Mankato Planning Commission. He helps coach a number of youth sports and is a judge at the science fairs and commencement volunteer that are held regularly at MSU. He has been an MSU Commencement volunteer and is a supporting member of the Alumni Association. Nick and his wife Vicky reside in North Mankato and have three kids: Erin (current MSU student), Maria and Nolan.
