Margaret "Peg" Overturf
'67 Home Economics

Peg Overturf is now a retired Family & Consumer Science (FACSEd) teacher of 25 years.  She taught junior and senior high classes in Mankato, St. Cloud, Minnetonka, and most recently, in Eden Prairie.  Peg graduated in 1967 with a BS degree in Home Economics & Vocational Education.  She was active in Tri Delta Sorority on campus and as an Alumni Advisor after graduation. She and husband Glenn were active in the Mankato Jaycees while residing in Mankato. During her teaching career, she was FACSEd department chairperson for 5 years, an active state board member and officer for FACSEd , and the Minnesota Association of Family & Consumer Sciences.  She was honored as Minnesota FACSEd state Teacher of the Year in 2002 and represented Minnesota at the national convention in Dallas.  Volunteering for the Jacob Wetterling Foundation as a speaker and numerous other events have been a significant part of her life the past 16 years.  Minnesota State Mankato has been a tradition in her family.  Husband Glenn, son Allen, daughter-in-law Diane, daughter Lisa, sister Patty and brother-in-law Jerry all attended school at MSU.  Currently Peg and family reside in Victoria, MN and enjoy the great outdoors and their cabin near Hackensack year round.
