After earning her undergraduate degree in English and German, Laurie started her teaching career in LeCenter, Minnesota. Shortly afterward, she taught in Walhalla, North Dakota. For the last twenty years, Laurie has taught at Lakeville High School currently serving as Communications Department Chair at Lakeville North High School. During her years at Lakeville, she continued her graduate studies at Minnesota State earning Masters and Specialist degrees. She has written for peer-edited professional journals and has presented at national conferences on education related topics. Laurie enjoys reading, traveling, and gardening. She lives in Faribault, Minnesota.
