Faculty Profile: Dr. Kimberly Contag
Dr. Contag has served as Graduate Coordinator and Chair in her Department and as Interim Vice President of Undergraduate Studies and International Education (2010-11). She has authored a variety of articles and scholarly books on Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian literatures as well as co-authored a book of creative-nonfiction on German-Ecuadorian internment and repatriation during World War II (Where the Clouds Meet the Water) and co-edited a volume of essays on Cervantes’ Don Quixote, her favorite book. Dr. Contag’s current scholarly interests concern fantasy and realism in contemporary Ecuadorian literature. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholar Award in 2006 and the Nadine B. Andreas Creative or Faculty Research Grant in 2009 to continue her research in Ecuador for a forthcoming book.
