Big Impacts

Making our way of life more sustainable starts at home. Indeed, universities should be models of resource conservation and innovation in sustainable business practices.

So we want to create the Purple-and-Gold-into-Green Fund to establish Minnesota State Mankato as a leader in campus sustainability. The fund will transform ideas from students, staff and faculty into a "greener" university.

Think of the cascading effects of such a fund:

• We will marshal the intellectual power of our campus community to look at how we do our daily work.
• We will use less, waste less and gain new efficiencies.
• We will demonstrate to current and prospective students that "green" is more than a mere aspiration to us—it's a call to action.

What your donation will do: Help us treat our planetary home more gently and show
the world how it's done.

Minnesota State Mankato is already home to several centers focused on making the world a greener, cleaner and healthier place:

• The Water Resources Center supports the improvement of water resources in southern Minnesota.
• The Center for Transportation Research and Implementation focuses on efficient resource use in transportation infrastructure such as roads and bridges.
• The Minnesota Modeling and Simulation Center supports sustainable decision-making in business, agriculture, education and health care.
• The Glen Taylor Nursing Institute for Family and Society develops and enhances innovative nursing knowledge that improves the well-being of families.
