The Athletic Training Education Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato was one of the first three programs nationally approved in 1969, and is currently the oldest continually approved/accredited athletic training education program in the United States MSU's program recently, on their first attempt, received initial Accreditation by the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (C.A.A.H.E.P.). C.A.A.H.E.P. is the largest accrediting body of it's kind in the country, with accreditation standards jointly being developed by: the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the National Athletic Trainer's Association. The Athletic Training Education Program at Minnesota State is nationally recognized for it's excellence in education.
