The original Myer's Field House provided years of classroom, athletic, and intramural practice and competition space as well as a student weight room and open gym area. Unfortunately, the times have caught up with the Field House new NCAA track specifications and a need for increased space have caused the need for a new Field House.
The new 84,000 sq. ft. Myer's Fieldhouse, was funded by the 1998 Legislature, with construction starting in April 2000, is a state-of-the-art facility that supports NCAA track and field events; practice space for softball, baseball, men and women's tennis, and student intramurals; along with a multi-purpose venue for the departments of Human Performance and Recreation.
