Account Payment Date

The Account Payment Date each semester is the fifth class day of the term which requires one of the following:

  • Payment in full
  • Enrollment in a Nelnet/FACTS payment plan
  • Sufficient financial aid or third party authorization in place to cover charges within 30 days

Unpaid Account Balances

Unpaid account balances will be reviewed 30 days after the Account Payment Date and again four weeks after the Account Past Due Date. The first review may result in a $30 installment fee.  Accounts with remaining balances of $30 or more not covered by a Nelnet/FACTS payment plan upon the second review date will be subject to an Unpaid Balance Hold. The Unpaid Balance Hold prevents future registration transactions, the ability to receive official transcripts, and the ability to receive a diploma. Additional penalties that may be incurred at this time include a Late Fee and/or Residence Hall Meal Plan/Dining Suspension for accounts with an unpaid balance of $100 or more. The Unpaid Balance Hold remains in place until the account is paid in full.

Unpaid Balance Holds

Unpaid Balance Holds are recognized system-wide; a hold placed by one college or university within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities’ (MnSCU) system will be honored by other MnSCU colleges and universities.
