The Special Circumstance process reviews financial aid eligibility based on changes to certain aspects of personal data originally reported on the FAFSA which has subsequently changed. Changes in employment, reduction of untaxable sources of income, medical expenses paid out of pocket and separation/divorce or death of a parent or spouse are examples of situations that may be considered under this process. Please note that not all situations can be considered under this process. Determination will be made upon submission of the Special Circumstance form.
Students submitting this form prior to being awarded financial aid will have any adjustments made reflected in their award package. Students submitting this form after having been awarded will receive a letter informing them what, if any, changes will be made to their eligibility. These students are still encouraged to accept the original aid awarded to them as there is no guarantee that this process will result in additional financial aid eligibility.
Please note: All follow-up information requested for your financial aid application must have completed processing before the Special Circumstance request can be reviewed.
