Minnesota State University, Mankato is fortunate to have generous individuals who donate to scholarship funds. The purpose of the scholarships is to assist undergraduate students in meeting the cost of attendance at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The major sources of such funding are:
- Alliss Scholarships funded by an annual gift from the Charles and Ellora Alliss Foundation to the Minnesota State College and University System (MnSCU). Recipients must be Minnesota residents, demonstrate financial need and meet the GPA or High School rank criteria. These funds are given priority to students who submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid prior to Mid-March.
- Dempsey Scholarships financed through an endowment fund administered by the Minnesota State University, Mankato Foundation. Dempsey Scholarships are generally awarded to students who do not have significant assistance from other sources of grants and scholarships. These funds are given priority to students who submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid prior to Mid-March.
- University Scholarships funded by the University Bookstore and other donors. These funds are given priority to students who submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid prior to Mid-March.
The scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who demonstrate both outstanding academic achievement and financial need may be awarded funds which come from private sources allotted to the institution
