Todd PfingstenTodd Pfingsten, Director of Campus Recreation

This is Todd's thirteenth year at MSU as the Director of Campus Recreation, overseeing staff, facilities, programs and services in intramural sports, open recreation, fitness activities, sport clubs, and adventure education. Prior to his current position he spent six years as the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports at the University of Nebraska and 3 1/2 years as the acting Director of Intramural-Recreational Sports (now Campus Recreation) at Minnesota State University Mankato. He received a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Finance in 1989 and a master's degree in Physical Education/Sport Administration in 1993, all from MSU. In his spare time, Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and three children along with playing golf, officiating basketball, and coaching his kids.

Ryan StevensRyan Stevens, Program Coordinator

This is Ryan's twelfth year at MSU as a Program Coordinator for the Office of Campus Recreation. Ryan coordinates the Intramural Sports and Sport Club programs as well as helps in the administration of Personnel and Open Recreation. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1998 and his master's degree in Health Promotion from Virginia Tech in 1999. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys golf, softball, tennis, and playing/officiating basketball, in addition to spending time with his family and friends.

 

 

Jen BrunsJen Myers, Program Coordinator

Jen is starting her seventh year as the Program Coordinator for Fitness, Wellness and Special Programs in the Office of Campus Recreation. This position educates, supports, and coordinates students' personal Fitness & Wellness based on campus-wide and specific needs. Jen received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the College of Saint Benedict in 2003. She received her master's degree in Sports Psychology at MSU in 2005. In her spare time, Jen enjoys running, taking pictures, reading, making casseroles and spending time with her husband and friends.

 

 

Sam SteigerSam Steiger, Program Coordinator

This is Sam's fifth year at MSU, and his first year as a Program Coordinator for the Office of Campus Recreation.  Sam coordinates the Adventure Education Program (AEP), which provides teambuilding and leadership development for the university and surrounding community.  The AEP operates the High Ropes and Challenge Course located on the south side of campus as well as the outdoor climbing wall (to be built summer of 2011) and is in the process of designing and constructing a large indoor climbing wall in Myers Field House (expected to be finished spring of 2012).  Sam received his bachelor's degree from the University Wisconsin- Stevens Point in 2001 and his master's degree in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2006.  In his spare time he enjoys photography, travel,  the outdoors, time with his dog 'Ryno' and is an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

 

Chris RottyChris Rotty, Graduate Intern

Chris is starting his second year as a Graduate Intern for Intramural Sports, but his sixth year overall in the Campus Rec department at MSU. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from MSU in 2010 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Management. While he enjoys all sports, His favorite sport to play and to coach is baseball. Chris also likes to watch movies and is addicted to fantasy sports.
