Policies

  1. Current MSU students may use Otto Recreation Center and Highland Center Pool free with MavCard. Faculty/Staff/Spouses may purchase an Otto Rec Center Membership (including pool) for $60/semester. Faculty/staff need MavCard for entry. Spouses need membership pass.
  2. Emeriti faculty and staff can purchase an Emeriti Otto Rec Center Membership for $50/semester or $100 annually.
  3. Current MSU students, faculty, staff and emeriti may use the Myers Field House free with MavCard or MSU ID. Family of current MSU students, faculty and staff along with alumni or friends of MSU may submit an application to utilize the Myers Field House during open recreation times. The cost of a Myers Field House Membership Pass is $50 per semester.
  4. If you have an injury that in any way inhibits a portion of a workout, you must have a signed permission to workout on your own from an athletic trainer.
  5. All injuries must be reported to the fitness center supervisor.
  6. Food, drink (including water bottles), gum, tobacco, and toothpicks are not permitted. There are a number of water fountains located througout the facilities.
  7. Spitting or defacing the facilities is not tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the facilities.
  8. Weight lifters must wear shoes and shirt at all times.
  9. Weight lifters are required to use collars once there is more than one plate on the bar.
  10. Weight lifters are required to use spotters on every set. (Workout at your own risk.)
  11. Strip bars of all weights after use. Return all plates and dumbbells to the rack in proper order. DON'T BE LAZY!!
  12. If the fitness center is busy, all members must sign up to use the cardiovascular equipment for a maximum of 30 minute time periods. This must be done the day of the workout.
  13. Horseplay will not be tolerated.
  14. Failure to follow any of these policies could result in loss of facility privileges.
