The Fitness and Wellness program offers individuals the opportunity to strive for personal fitness and wellness by offering a variety of activities and services for individuals, such as group fitness classes, fitness assessments, individual and small group personal training, customized exercise plans, Fall Boot Camp, Spring Break Six, Tread and Shred, special events, fitness certifications and continuing education credits opportunities, and the use of fitness equipment in the Otto Recreation Center.
The group fitness classes schedule changes every semester and includes classes that focus on improving an individuals overall health and fitness.
Classes are free for all current MSU students and Otto Recreation Center members.
A Group Fitness ONLY Membership or an Otto Recreation Center Membership may be purchased by non-students. Information about membership options are located here.
Components of a fitness assessment include testing body composition, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. A summary of your results will provide you with baseline information to access your current level of fitness. A fitness assessment is required before beginning any personal training program or exercise plan development.
If you need a motivator or do not know where to start with exercising, then hiring a personal trainer is perfect for you! Consider it an investment in your health! A personal trainer will work with your individual goals to develop a program that meets your needs!
Eight weeks of small group training and healthy competition between friends and teams led by a Campus Recreation trainer!
Four weeks of small group training of treadmill and strength training interval workouts led by a Campus Recreation trainer!
Campus Recreation hosts fitness certifications and continuing education workshops to provide individuals an opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge and increase marketability as a professional.
