The Fitness & Wellness program offers individuals the opportunity for personal fitness through both the Group Fitness program and use of the fitness equipment in Otto Recreation Center. Group Fitness classes include: total body conditioning, kickboxing, step, yoga and more. The fitness center offers both cardiovascular and weight training opportunities which include: treadmills, elliptical machines, stair machines, exercise bikes, variable resistance weight equipment, free weights and more.

Spring 2012 Fitness Programs

Maverick Boot Camp II
Week of March 12 through week of April 20
Registrations due February 28

A 6 week program designed to jump start your fitness! Form a team of 4 and compete in weekly challenges. Your team will meet with a personal trainer two times a week. You earn points for team weight loss percentage and weekly challenges. The team with the greatest percentage of total accumulated points wins a great prize! Cost is $200 total ($50 per team member). That’s only $4 a session! Bootcamp team sign up form (PDF)and Bootcamp Invoice (PDF). Forms are also available in Otto or in HC 1410. Membership to Otto Recreation Center for Faculty/Staff/Spouse/Alumni is required to participate.

Triathlon, April 29, 8am

First timers and experienced triathletes welcome! Swim 300 yards in the Highland Center pool, bike 14 miles and run 3.75 miles on a paved county road south of town. Registration limited to 80 participants. Teams welcome. Cost is $25 for students, $60 for teams. You must provide your own bicycle and helmet. Register between March 26 & April 17 in MF 118. Treadmill-a-thon vs. SCSU, April

Participate in the third version of this competition between the Minnesota State Mankato and St. Cloud State University Campus Recreation Departments! If we run more miles than SCSU, we take home the traveling trophy! 6 hour event in Otto in April. Watch for details.
