How do I get a personal trainer or sign up for Small Group PT?

The first step is to set up a Fitness Assessment.

To make an appointment for a Fitness Assessment:

Individual Personal Training Packages

Small Group Personal Training (SGPT) Packages

SGPT is available for 2-4 people working together with a personal trainer on similar goals.          Pay Online  SGPT package prices are as follows:

  • 5 Sessions   
    • 2 People ($7 per person)    $70 package
    • 3 People ($6 per person)    $90 package
    • 4 People ($5 per person)    $100 package
  • 10 Sessions    
    • 2 People ($7 per person)    $140 package
    • 3 People ($6 per person)    $180 package
    • 4 People ($5 per person)    $200 package
  • 20 Sessions   
    • 2 People ($7 per person)    $280 package
    • 3 People ($6 per person)    $360 package
    • 4 People ($5 per person)    $400 package

Personal Training Info:

  • After you complete a fitness assessment and purchase a personal training package you will be matched with a personal trainer.  Your personal trainer will develop an individualized program specific to your current fitness level, physical limitations, and desired outcomes.  Your trainer will provide you with personal instruction and attention to keep you motivated and on the right track to meet your personal goals.
  • If purchasing SGPT, everyone in your group must pay for and complete a fitness assessment before the first session of SGPT.
  • All personal trainers employed through Campus Recreation are currently certified through an accredited program. 
  • Each session lasts 60 minutes - date and time are determined by you and your trainer. 
  • All individual personal training packages and SGPT packages expire one year from purchase date.

Faculty, staff, alums, donors and spouses of the afore mentioned and spouses of students must have an Otto Rec Center Membership to purchase Individual personal training or SGPT packages.

Required Forms for a Fitness Assessment and Personal Training:

  • Medical History Questionnaire Form
    • Complete form and drop off at HC 1410 or email copy to crec.fitness@mnsu.edu before fitness assessment appointment. 
      • Depending on the information you provide on your form, clearance from a medical provider may be required before completing a fitness assessment and/or meeting with a personal trainer.

Today, personal trainers are used by people of all fitness, age and economic levels--and from all over the world--to help make lifestyle changes those people couldn’t achieve by themselves.  What are you waiting for?

Customized Exercise Plan

If you are self-motivated and need a starting point, but are not interested or able to hire a personal trainer, a customized exercise plan is a great option!  A Customized Exercise Plan is a 12-week program developed to meet your specific needs, goals, and time constraints. This 12-week plan may consist of aerobic exercise, weight lifting and resistance exercise, flexibility exercise and stress reduction methods, etc. Pay Online

  • You will receive an emailed copy of your exercise plan and an option to schedule a 30-60 minute appointment to have your plan explained to you.
  • Completion of a fitness assessment is required before a customized exercise plan is developed.
  • You do NOT have to purchase an Otto Rec Center membership to get a customized exercise plan.
