Are there any costs involved with recruiting at MSU?
There is NO cost to employers who want to post jobs at MSU through mavjobs.com. Mavjobs.com is MSU's online system for posting jobs/internships for MSU students and alumni. There is no charge for registering, and by having a mavjobs.com account, employers can post jobs and internships and search and review student resumes online. Students may apply online for these positions. They may also contact the employer directly for further information. A username and password are provided to the employer contact.
For employers who would like to hold interviews on the MSU campus, this is also a FREE service. When you schedule a visit to campus you receive the following services:
- Username and password to access mavjobs.com (post jobs and internships, search resumes, prescreen applications, request online schedules, and receive application materials online)
- Advertisement of job postings listed for on-campus recruitment (publicized via e-mails, posters, classroom announcements, etc.)
- On-campus interview scheduling (use of interview rooms in CDC)
- Set-up and room use for on-campus information sessions; free parking when on campus for interview and information sessions
- Courtesy lunch with CDC staff and/or faculty when on campus for interview sessions

How do I register on mavjobs.com?
To register as an employer on mavjobs.com complete the following steps:
- Go to www.mavjobs.com
- Click on the "employer login" in the middle of the page
- Click on “register” or “register and post local job” (choose this option if you have a job to post)
- Complete the company information form, read the terms and conditions and check the box stating you have done so. Click "continue." Do not enter specific job information on the registration form. It will not be available to students as a job posting. You will be able to post jobs after your registration is approved.
- Complete the contact information - you must enter a contact in order to post jobs - then click "continue."
You will be notified by email as soon as your account is approved and has been activated, usually within 48 hours.
How do I post a job on mavjobs.com?
ON-CAMPUS Part-time Positions:
If you are an ON-CAMPUS employer, part-time & seasonal jobs can be posted for free on mavjobs.com, Minnesota State Mankato’s online job posting system. These jobs are geared toward current students and can be posted by the CDC staff. If your office already has an account, you do not need to re-register. Please fill out the “On-Campus Part-Time Job Posting” form or log into your account and post the position. If your office does not have an account, please go to www.mavjobs.com , click on "Employer Login” and “register” at the right hand side. Then complete an “On-Campus Part-Time Job Posting” form or log into your account and post the position. All registrations and jobs must be approved by CDC staff. Please allow up to 2 business days for approval and confirmation.
Full-time and OFF-CAMPUS Part-time Positions:
You can post full-time and OFF-CAMPUS part-time & seasonal jobs for free on mavjobs.com. These jobs are geared toward current students and can be posted by you after you register with mavjobs.com . To post a position:
- Login to mavjobs.com with your employer login information
- At the top of the page click on "Jobs/Internships”
- Click on the “add new” button
- Fill out the position information. Required fields are designated by a *
- You can choose “all majors” in the major section if you are open to hiring students and alumni from a variety of majors. You may also multi-select in the majors and job function categories by holding down your shift key and clicking with your mouse.
- Contact information should pop up automatically for the primary contact. You can input information for someone else in the company.
- Click submit.
How can I promote a part-time job opportunity available at my company or organization?
You can post part-time & seasonal jobs for free on mavjobs.com to thousands of registered MSU students.
- If you already have an account with mavjobs.com, you can log in and post your positions yourself. If you need to know your username and password, e-mail at the address above or call 507-389-6061.
- If you do not have an account with mavjobs.com, see the How do I register on mavjobs.com question above. After your registration is confirmed, you can log in and post your positions yourself.
