Dr. Glen Poupore

Dr. Poupore is a professor of TESOL and applied linguistics in the English Department and is the Director of the Center for English Language Programs (CELP). He has been a language teacher educator for several years and has taught in the United States, Canada, and Korea. He obtained his Ph.D. in English Applied Linguistics at the University of Birmingham, England.

Eric Wenninger

Eric Wenninger is the Coordinator of English Language Programs for international students. Additionally, he teaches classes in the Intensive English Program and facilitates the Language Partners Program, which promotes academic and cultural exchanges. He obtained a Master of Education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (2006) and more recently, served as an English Language fellow for two years in Vietnam.

Dr. Heather Camp

Dr. Heather Camp is an Associate Professor of English and the Director of the Writing Across the Curriculum Program. Dr. Camp teaches writing courses for multilingual students and helps faculty in all disciplines integrate writing into their curriculum.

Hyeju Dorek

Hyeju Dorek is an instructor in the Intensive English Program (IEP). She is from South Korea and she received her Bachelor’s degree in English Studies and Master’s degree in TESOL at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has taught college level ESL courses in South Korea and United States since 2013. For her free time, she enjoys swimming, reading, and traveling.

Olga Nelson

Dr. Olga Nelson is an instructor in the Intensive English Program (IEP), as well as an instructor of Humanities. Her professional experience includes ten years of teaching Linguistics and English in Russia, and five years as an ESL instructor at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has worked with a variety of learners, from college students to business professionals.

Stephen Hunt

Steve is an instructor in the Intensive English Program (IEP). He has been a language teacher for many years and has taught in the United States, China, Ethiopia, and Lithuania. Steve possesses two master's degrees from the University of St. Thomas (MAT) and Hamline University (MAESL). This is his first year teaching at Mankato and he thoroughly enjoys it! Hockey, soccer, and his kids are some of his favorite loves.

Matthias Sadusky

Matthias Sadusky studied at Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota where he attained a Bachelor of Arts in German Studies and Classical Studies. After some study abroad in Germany, he moved to Mankato where he continued on to get a Master of Arts in Teaching English as Foreign Language. Since then he has worked with the local immigrant population at Lincoln Community Center.

Katie Schultz

Katherine Schultz is starting her third semester with the Intense English Program. She has a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Teaching English as an Other Language (TESOL) and a Master's Degree in TESOL, both from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Apart from teaching as adjunct with the Intense English Program, Katherine teaches English Language Learners (ELLs) at a local elementary school. When away from school, she enjoys being with her family, watching her kids' sporting events, and begin outside working in her gardens.

Lynn Kovacs

Lynn Kovacs is an adjunct instructor in the Intensive English Program. She has taught in many different international English programs in the U.S. over the last 11 years and lived/taught English and general education in Canada prior to that. She completed her Masters of Arts in TESOL at Minnesota State University, Mankato, her second Master of Arts degree.

Thomas Maldonado

Thomas Maldonado currently teaches in the Intensive English Program and prior to this, he taught both English for Academic Purposes: Speaking & Listening and Reading & Writing at MNSU Mankato as he completed his Masters in TESOL in the English department. He obtained his Bachelors in English and American Literature from the University of Texas in El Paso and taught abroad in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a couple of years.

Dr. Thomas Tacheny

Dr. Tacheny is an adjunct professor in the MNSU English Department where he teaches English composition to international students. He also teaches advanced composition to adult immigrants and refugees at the Adult Basic Education Program in Mankato. He obtained his Masters in Counseling and Doctor of Education at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He was an English teacher, guidance counselor, and educational administrator in several school systems for over 25 years. Then he returned to the university and completed graduate studies for the TESOL licensure. His family has been a host family for several international students from Europe and Asia which inspires him to help international students in the IEP Program improve their English language skills.

Samantha Ten Eyck

Samantha Ten Eyck teaches in the Intensive English Program (IEP). She also teaches composition, literature, and creative writing classes within Minnesota State Colleges. She started teaching English language in Beijing, China, where she worked as an instructor for two years. She has an MFA in Poetry and is working towards an MA in TESOL.
