Hello from CETL,

The academic year is over and we are already working hard on teaching and learning initiatives for next year. All faculty have received messages about the $30,000 available for mini-grants dealing with teaching/learning issues. The deadline to receive these grants in our office is May 14th, today! You can view the information on the grants and how to apply by going to "grants" on this website. There will be a second round of grants available in late February so don't worry if you missed the first call.

We also have announced a mentor program open to all tenured faculty. Stipends of $500 are available for this work with new faculty. If interested please contact CETL this summer. Along with the mentor program we have announced a new faculty learning community on "feminist issues." This is possible thanks to a grant from the state IFO office to fund a group of no more than 15 faculty who will work together to discuss this subject for the next two years (meeting once each month). There will be some meals paid for along with books etc. If you are interested please contact CETL this summer, the sooner the better.

Watch for a number of other exciting opportunities we are planning for faculty development at MSU. Visit this website often for updates and application forms for various activities that will occur during the next academic year. Have an exciting and safe summer!

Sincerely,

Stewart Ross, Director CETL
