Hello from CETL,

As we move into the month of November there are many programs for faculty that CETL continues to sponsor. Next week we offer a workshop for faculty interested in service learning opportunities. We have over 20 registered already! We have now completed the first two seminars for the faculty certificate program with the third seminar on diversity in the classroom fast approaching. The 60 faculty and graduate teaching assistants have been busy checking out their syllabus and thinking about active learning strategies for the classroom. Our mentors are meeting with their mentees (there are 37 new faculty in the program) and by all reports the meetings are useful and interesting for all involved.

On November 11th CETL will co-sponsor with ITS our second annual "Talking About Teaching and Technology Conference" at MSU. Check out the details on our website. Even if you don't use much technology in your teaching the conference can still be interesting to see how other faculty have utilized various approaches to teaching and learning with the aid of technology, including the development of online classes.

Finally, we have many peer faculty consultations taking place across the campus. If you are interested in this please contact us soon. The window of opportunity is quickly closing.

That is it for now. Please come back to our website the second week of November when we unveil our "Faculty Resource Guide" which will include a list of CETL books we have purchased in the past few months. Our new lending library will soon be available in the new TNT faculty area of the lower level of the library at MSU.
