Creating a "Harold"

Mark Quinlan, Centennial High School

This session is a repeat of a session that was very popular at the 2003 CTAM Conference. A "Harold" is a rehearsal/warm-up/focus exercise that can be used in theater classes or rehearsals and can also be used as a group exercise for interp students on a speech team. The "Harold" was designed by well-known improv teacher, Del Close, who worked with such comic greats as John Belushi, Mike Myers, Chris Farley, and Bill Murray. This session will be participatory and is for anyone who wants to learn how to do a "Harold" or for those who participated in the 2003 session and want a refresher. Be prepared to have fun and to exercise your creative muscles.
