Sydney, Thank you so much for your kind words and your wonderful question. Our goal is to provide these kids with the confidence they need to succeed in the world, doing whatever they want to do. I have seen kids time and time again take the skills they learn in Our Time, take the confidence they gain in Our Time, and apply that to their everyday lives: in school, at home, with their friends, around other people who stutter, and around people who do not stutter. I have also seen kids struggle to transfer that confidence they feel during Our Time into their everyday lives, in particular when faces with people who are not understanding or kind about their stutter. The everyday world is hard and can be cruel, over and over again. I feel that our job is not only to help these kids gain a great deal of self-respect and confidence, but also to change the world outside of Our Time. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the world were more loving, accepting, and understanding. This is one of the reasons why we travel and perform our shows around the world: in hopes of spreading this positive message and motivating people to live out of kindness and not fear.
