Rick, I am so glad you developed the software to allow PWS to experiment with the use of AAF+. The emerging option to make this also portable is a great opportunity for many who cannot afford costly solutions. The cautions in the article highlighting that we are not substituting therapy is very important. I have a technical interest in the performance of devices such as AAF/DAF and was wondering if it would be possible to shed some light on the specifications of what you developed. I realize that much of this depends on the microphone/headphone and the soundboard people will use which are out of your control, but .... (1) What are the highest frequencies the system can pass under ideal circumstances (e.g., sampling rate)? (2) Is frequency shifting for the AAF effect based on a limited frequency band (e.g., close to the speaker's pitch level) or do you shift larger ranges of frequencies (e.g. also the formants of vowels)? Thank you so much for your insight in this. Also, if you have an opinion if these specs practically matter that would be appreciated too! Congratulations with your accomplishment!
