Hey Greg, You bring up a very good point. The effectiveness of any stuttering treatment or stuttering devices is very difficult. I also agree that self-reports are about the only way to get at how effective the client feels the device is in the real world. I don't have the reference right now but there have been some studies of self-reports from people who have used the SpeechEasy and it's seems like in general people are pretty satisfied with them in terms of how well they help them in the real world. Other companies like Casa Futura probably have the same kind of results. What is unfortunate is that there is not clinical trial type studies that can give enough evidence of their effectivieness that insurance companies will be willing to help pay for them. It would also be nice if there was enough evidence to persuade masters's programs to talk more about AAF so that clinicians are at least knowledgable enough about it to give this as an option for their clients to explore. As you say it will just take time for these things to happen. Thanks for you comments, Rick
