Hi Karen, Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I certainly live life to the full. I ensure that every day is filled with challenges and new adventures. There are insufficient hours in a day to do everything that I wish to do, so I am contemplating writing to the British Prime Minister in an attempt to increase the number of hours in a day from 24 to 36. Maybe you might consider making a similar approach to your President ;-) When I adopted a zero-tolerance to avoidance, I forced myself to say the words that I had avoided for so many years. I became pro-active and deliberately brought them into everyday conversation, even though they may not have been needed. I quickly gained in confidence and, today, I do not have any anticipatory fear of saying any word or sound. When I prepare a speech, I select whatever words I wish without even thinking about my past difficulties. Stuttering is no longer an issue in my life. I wish you every success with your studies. Kindest regards Alan
