Hi Alan. I am a graduate student from New York University working on my degree in Speech Language Pathology. I found your article to be incredibly motivating, insightful, and pertinent to almost every circumstance. It made me think about my future as an SLP, a profession in which individual comfort and discomfort zones are altered on a daily basis by clinicians and clients. Your statement “Our ability to tolerate short periods of discomfort is the key to successful expansion” truly inspired me. It is a reminder for everyone to stay strong and never give up regardless of the situation.
