I want to thank you for your inspiring article. It really takes courage to face your biggest fears in life head on like you have done. Growing up, I as well would substitute certain words that I had trouble with for other ones. There were times where I wanted to say something and would stop short because I could not find another way of saying what I wanted to express. This caused me to become afraid to express my thoughts and to become silent when I knew I had something important to say. I have as well gotten over this fear, but I often look back on those times with regret. It is stories like yours that I am sure will give hope to many others who think they are alone. I was not able to face my fears until the frustration had built up so much that I could not take it anymore. In school I was tired of sitting there when teachers would ask if anyone knew an answer to a qustion and the room became silent. A lot of times I did know the answer to that question, but was too afraid to speak up. How long did it take you to realize that you needed to face your fears in order to overcome them? Thanks again!
