Hi Diarmuid, It was a pleasant surprise to see you participating in this online discussion. Thank you for taking the time to read my paper. I totally agree that it is wise to commence with relatively easily attainable goals. We can then build upon those initial successes. What was that old saying, 'From little acorns do great oaks grow'? ;-) I know that you have expanded your comfort zones immensely during recent years and have reaped the benefits. I'm not sure if you have read the following paper that I wrote for the ISAD Conference in 2003. It deals with the subject in far greater detail: STEP OUTSIDE; Why expanding comfort zones can improve our stuttering and lead to more fulfilling lives): http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/isad6/papers/badmington6.html Hopefully our paths will cross when I have occasion to visit Ireland. I'm seriously considering coming across next year. Kindest regards Alan
