Hi Amber, Thank you, so much, for your generous comments. It was kind of you to write in such a vein. Incidentally, please feel free to address me as ‘Alan’ – Mr Badmington makes me feel SOOOOOOOOOOOO old. ;-) You are correct in your assumption that my public speaking programme is rather hectic. My diary already extends as far ahead as October 2008. I am having such an enjoyable time. I make no excuse for talking at every opportunity – I waited for more than 50 years to be able to say what I wanted. ;-) The majority of our belief system is in place by the time we are 14/15 years of age. Unless we challenge those beliefs (or encounter an experience that causes us to view them in a different light), they will continue to influence the way that we live our lives. If you are interested in reading more about this subject, you may wish to read the following articles that I have written: (1) ‘Stuttering is not just a speech problem’ http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/kuster/Infostuttering/badmington.pdf (2) STEP OUTSIDE: Why expanding comfort zones can improve our stuttering and lead to more fulfilling lives http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/isad6/papers/badmington6.html (3) HOW I CHANGED MY STUTTERING MINDSET http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/isad8/papers/badmington8.html Amber, thank you for your interest in my paper and for taking part in the online discussion. I wish you every success with your studies. Kindest regards Alan
