As a graduate student, I have learned that it is important to empower persons who stutter by allowing them to feel in control of their stuttering. For example, when working with children who stutter we often ask them to stutter on purpose so that they can be in control of what sounds they want to stutter on, and what sounds they don't. Do you feel that it is important to empower children who stutter? Do you feel that it would have helped you as a child who stuttered?
