Yes, I think you are right. The change occurs around 6-9-th year. Then the child starts visiting the school and has saturated feed back. In my own case, the change happened deeply when I was third and fourth grade. Then I began with the avoidance behavior, with developing all the concealed feelings of the iceberg. Before that I still realized my trouble, but not so sharply and painfully. I think all the psychological (emotional) impediments were set between the age of 7 and 9-10.
