Absolutely - I think the only way for improving the fluency is what is: assertiveness! Gaining assertiveness, i.e. self – confidence, inner strength, healthy strong ambition and motivation for achievements, inner tranquility and happiness – all of them are either main characteristics of the internal locus of control, or accompanying it. My own experience is that stuttering is harder to treat than cancer – I am not kidding. And for its diminishing and speech improvement one needs to undergo complete personality change – to grow a lot inwardly! Seen from that angle – stuttering is amazingly good instrument, impulse for self development, that propels the stutterer mercilessly toward self perfection. That’s it…
