I am currently a student studying Communicative Disorders in the United States. I enjoyed reading your article and how you have taken your own experiences to inspire your work as an educator. I thought you raised a good point, regarding incorporating all aspects of a person and their communication environment. I think this is a very important aspect that everyone needs to remember when working with individuals who stutter. Bullying is present in our schools across America and I am glad you are addressing this issue because something needs to be done to make it less prevelent. Although you said there are no speech specialists in Cameroon it sounds as though you are taking an active role in educating others, increasing awareness, and helping individuals who stutter. Thanks for the great information about how stuttering is viewed in Cameroon. Keep up the hard work in increasing awareness within your country!
