Hi,I read your piece and found it quite interesting.. especially the idea that people who stutter are "punished by Gods". I guess cultures have their own different ways about explaining what diverts from "normal". One other thing that attacted my interest was the lack of speech pathologists in your country. It must be an important issue not only for stuttereing but also for all othe communicative disorders. With the lack of professionals to provide help to children with comm. disorders, teachers must be undertaking at least some of the therapists' roles-as we can tell from your story. I was wondering if teaching education involves any training related to speech pathologies and what you are doing when you face a case that is beyond your abilities to help? Do you refer the child to a say psychologist? Are there any attempts at creating a SLP field? Good luck in your endovour! Evra
